Glad they apparently finally fixed the "set defaults by app" problem. I can now install and use Sumatra PDF without conflict.

I have no such policies set. I do not have a Mobile device. I am NOT in The IP. This is just more garbage that they will not fix.
Everyone has Active Hours set. Active Hours only apply when you have a restart pending. This seems to be why you see it, and why it disappears after you restart. I'm sure some bright spark at MS thought it was a good idea to tell us so via the 'managed..' message - some may not agree

Did I Post anything about Active Hours??? That in of itself is a waste. Maybe if you read what is posted, some may agree. I really do not care.

Maybe if you read the screenshot I posted you would see the list of configured policies is just 'Active Hours Start' and Active Hours End'. While you have a restart pending this triggers the 'some settings are managed...' banner - an annoyance but I'm guessing it's intended by MS to be 'helpful information'...

I'm going to show my stupidity (again!) here but what was that problem? I'm still on 17134.112 and i can set defaults by app with no problem? I must be missing something...but what?

Some particular installed 3rd-party apps seemed to cause the 'Set defaults by app' window to crash when you tried to open it. It would close while it was still searching for apps. If you didn't have the problem then you don't have any of the 'incompatible' apps installed.

So you are saying that all 800 million users of Windows 10 get that error msg on every single update?? I did NOT get it prior to 1803 and I did read your screenshot. Now I have some things to do so just let it go as I will not responds.

Yes - but I'm also saying it's an 'information' message, not an 'error'. I believe MS genuinely though it would be 'helpful additional information' and are at a loss to understand why we are all so annoyed by it.

Thanks @Bree - I thought it was ALL 3rd party apps and I've got quite a few of those running. I think this update can wait a while - nothing really of note for me.

Yours is working good now Bree? Did you figure out which app/s were involved in issue for you?
