I might just wipe and install from ISO, not too much on this one it is a spare I have, but nice for using the IP builds to test.

Drivers, least the vid ones, usually occur around 30%. 18% is an odd place to croak. Might be better to clean install it, or if you have the time and patience, wait for next one. Gut feel says the next one won't play either. You've got a chicken bone stuck in it's throat!

You mentioned no 3rd party av, but did you try disabling windows av? Some have reported that helped them get an install in past builds. Just saying, who knows.

When I first boot, Windows Defender says "Action Needed". I follow instructions, and after WD whirs around for awhile, I'm told that everything's good.

I followed this procedure for awhile, but then decided to leave it alone; now, when I boot, I get "Action Needed", but after awhile, the WD icon changes to the green check, indicating everything's good.

Yup, noticed that too, "Attention needed" and than nothing, all OK.

It's one step better than the previous build where defender told me I needed to set up OneDrive before it turned green.

Yes, I get this on one computer but not on other 3 insider computers.

Thanks, Keith, Count and Magilla. Guess it just wasn't important enough to mention before now, since we all figured it was lying to us!
