An additional printer (HP 4345 MFP) was added to the home network yesterday. But it isn't found by "add a printer" by Insider 17692, nor can its driver be installed by manually selecting the IP. The "Install the printer driver" dialog does not include HP in the 'Manufacturer' list. The manufacturers listed appear to be limited to those whose printers were connected when build 17692 was installed. Clicking on Windows update (in this dialog) fails with "Windows was unable to get a list of devices from Windows Update. Please try again later." Perhaps "later" is next century! Next day the same error is presented.
This printer is found, and installed by both my Surface Pro 4, and the release dual-boot installation on this desktop. Both of those systems are running 1803.
Feedback lodged. Plenty of complaints about HP printers there, so apparently a common problem.

I went online to see if I could get anything in this build. I couldn't find the printer or even get a list of printers. Must be build related. Only able to find my printers that are on my own network. STRANGE.

Thanks, confirms what I'm seeing. Be interesting to see if the next build finds that (new to this network) HP printer.

did you turn printer off for few seconds and then back on and rescan for it? You probably did that but just saying, sometimes that triggers computer/network/component

RE: Periodicity & Distribution of Sets (Insider Build 17692 - Page 18 here):
    Attachment 193099

These days I am but a spectator of the MS do-si-do. However, this is far from my first diagnostic sashay. I grew up with an uncle who spent his whole life at IBM. To boot, I do have understanding about how their minds oft work. Computational integration isn't easy work, e.g., F(x) is the integral of f(x) if dF/dx = f(x) -- got it?

The intrinsical periodicity of Sets in its current state of development should not discombobulate or distract those who are initiated to the overall testing process. Limited distribution of Sets seems to be guided by intellect, plus rooted in logic. Except as is integral to software design, coders tend to have little tollerance for redundancy when vast multitudes parrot that of which they are quite well aware. How many times need you be told your fly is open whilst trying to fix the zipper?

Love 'em or hate 'em, they're people just like us. Should y'all determine that I'm full of hooey, simply ignore my shmegegge and I promise my feelings won't be hurt. Just be nice to me, or else you might force me to become an Insider, then you'ld have to put up with my long-windedness on a daily basis -- not pretty. For now I'm happy just sittin' off to the side watching y'all have all the fun! -Larry :)
I have no idea what you are rambling on about!

Every so often, my daughter would hit the wrong button and my printer would fire up! I could see her printer, but not her computers. Strange.

Not ALL of it, Swarfega! There are words in there that defy translation in any language!

Insider 17692 didn't recognize my printer also (HP 4350 3540). Had to download HP software (basic driver) and install it. Hate HP software, but it works now.

I have had no issues with two HP printers, but that might be because I add them as network printers instead of installing as local printers, other one being hardwired to router and the other connected to WiFi.

All Insider builds on all machines, including virtual ones have had absolutely no issues in finding the printers.
