    Summary

    This update addresses an issue where the 2017 and 2018 versions of Intuit QuickBooks Desktop can't run in multi-user mode on Windows 10, version 1803 devices. The QuickBooks multi-user mode service fails to start with error “Windows could not start the QuickBooksDBXX service on Local Computer." and “Error 193: 0xc1”.

    Known issues

    Microsoft is not aware of any issues that affect this update currently.

    To get the standalone package (not available via Windows Update) for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

    Thanks for the heads up. Possibly a stupid question, but if one does not have QuickBooks installed, will this Cum. get installed anyway? I didn't see anything in the write ups on the update documentation. I'm chasing an existing auto update issue and wondering if this update will trigger on my system. Thanks.

    No, under 'How to get this update' it only says get the standalone package from the catalog. It would say 'windows update' as well if it was being delivered automatically. Next Tuesday is 'Patch Tuesday' so you should be able to test your issue then.

    Edit: in fact I've just noticed it specifically says...
    To get the standalone package (not available via Windows Update) for this update...
    That's new, I don't recall MS spelling it out in such detail for previous standalone updates.

    Anyone else notice the ask for feedback frequency setting is frozen and says something about insiders reference ?
