On December 1, 2018, the Groove Music iOS and Android apps will be retired. Your personal music files will continue to be available in OneDrive. You can keep listening to those files, and your playlists, with the Windows 10 Groove Music apps on PC, Xbox, or Windows Phone.
What's happening to the Groove Music iOS and Android apps?
The Groove Music iOS and Android apps will be retired on December 1, 2018. After that date, the apps won't work and should be uninstalled.
What will happen to my music?
Your personal music files will still be available on OneDrive. You can access OneDrive online or through the OneDrive app on any supported device. To keep playing your music and playlists in Groove, use the Windows 10 Groove Music apps on PC, Xbox, or Windows Phone.
How can I play my OneDrive music on my iOS or Android device?
- Download your OneDrive music to your PC. Get more info about Groove and OneDrive.
- Play your music through the OneDrive app. Get more info about Groove and OneDrive.
- Play your OneDrive music with another streaming app. Get apps from Microsoft Store.
- Play your music with Google Play Music or iTunes Match.

Pity they don't retire it on Windows also. The only useful aspect of Music Search has already disappeared...
When they said ages ago that music groove was finishing I moved to Spotify which I can get on here and on my windows 10 phone.
Sorry for the delay BugMeister….prefer for what? I currently have no software for detecting music track or artist if it's this that you mean. Having been used to the free search ability that was incorporated into Cortana, i'm reluctant to pay for Spotify.
