    These uCode updates are not OS patches. They should only contain the uCode (newer version of the .dll) they do not contain registry settings.

    I'm not so sure about the registry part. As I said I have never installed any Microsoft microcode update, so I wouldn't know if it creates the entries.

    Maybe someone who has done it can verify if they are created or not.

    Note to @Brink.
    Shawn, would you find interesting to update the first post, to include this Microsoft script, so people can directly download it and check the level of support they have?
    @ddelo,

    Done.

    Why don't you check them and tell us if they are installed and with what values?
    I got to the "Memory Management" portion of regedit where you told me to go but could not find featuresettingoverride or featuresettingoverridemask.

    The latest update contains all the fixes since 17134.1 (base version 1803) to date. You don't need interim OS patches.
    So KB4346783 would have KB4100347 in it?

    I think I'm just going to uninstall both and let WU send them my way again.

    I'm honored, but I meant the Microsoft one, along with Understanding Get-SpeculationControlSettings PowerShell script output

    So OK, as @winactive said, they are not entered by the Microsoft update, so one has to add them manually. Thanks Andy.

    No, because KB4346783 is an OS update not a uCode update. WU is a mechanism for delivery, it delivers application updates from Microsoft as well as other things. The uCode is not Microsoft's, it is Intel's. But due to Windows having closed and proprietory code, we can't deal with the Intel updates manually or otherwise.

    We have to let OEMs put them in the firmware (UEFI/BIOS) or we have to let Microsoft repackage them to integrate into the OS. The patches were standalone, they are now automatic. They are not part of the OS, they are updates to the CPU to govern how it operates.

    I am confused and don't get why I need to manually edit the registry. Winactive said OS updates should set them. I'm just going to uninstall and wait for them to return. If you happen to know if KB4346783 would have KB4100347 in it please let me know. I doubt since one is cumulative and one is just microcode.
