Hah, thanks. So I uninstalled both KB4346783 and KB100347. It is not reinstalling KB346783 but not the other. Do you think 100347 is included in 346783? Should I go ahead and uninstall again, hide, then do the two in chronological order?

Microsoft still hasn't acknowledged that KB4100347 was updated on 8/21, pushed out to the wrong computers for a week, and then removed from the Microsoft Update Catalog (the 8/21 update, that is). I don't understand why they're being so tight-lipped about this.

Do you post in white ink or something? All your posts are invisible to me but yeah hitting 'Quote' has revealed this one.

I just enabled windows update on my AMD... and that's the first thing that it attempted to push out to me, so it certainly hasn't been pulled.

I have now blocked the update with this utility from Microsoft

I have the patch installed, but HWiNFO claims the microcode version is 0x25 instead of 0x2A that is listed in the MS KB. (the CPU is i3-5005U).

Is it due to "patch was recalled/patch was re-released" confusion? I installed it yesterday.
OS is Windows 10 Home 64 bit

i3-5005U (Broadwell U) is CPU ID 306D4 current uCode is 0x2B, MS patch level is 0x2A. If you have 0x25 the patch is not active or the CPU is mis-identifed/mis-detected.

The 8/21 update (and also the July update) were both pulled from the Windows Update Catalog a few days ago. Right now the only update in the Microsoft Update Catalog is from 5/17.

I just checked, and Window Update is no longer trying to install KB4100347 on my AMD machine when I click on "Check for updates." I don't have it blocked.

I think the 2018-07 reissue was a mistake. I think KB4346084 will have it's scope extended at some unspecified point in Microsoft's future.
