Not sure what the point of this update is when Windows Update forces 1803...

This update is downloading now onto my Lenovo laptop. I wonder how quickly it might be followed by v. 1803. Windows Update, always an adventure . . .

My system has been checking daily for updates (none since 04/10/18) and KB4103727 (and the Adobe, and Win Security patches) just hit at about 6:30 PM EST. Download and initial install took about 20 minutes to get to first restart point. Restart took 20 minutes plus a second restart for about five minutes. System is now at bld 16299.431. I'm guessing this cum. is some sort of prereq. to Version 1803?

    10.0.16299.431 MS Catalog KB4103727

WU doesn't work when 1803 is blocked. Stalls first at 100%, and after restart, stalls a second time at preparing to install 0%. Force it by disconnecting Internet. Winver is at 431 and 402 was the best here in 2018.

MSASCuiL.exe still not working and tells me that up front, Insider channel is not close.

I used the wushowhide tool to hide the 1803 update. Now Windows Update refuses to download this 16299.431 CU.

    + KB4103729 @MS Catalog

This patch comes with the Adobe one. Thanks @Dave44 for posting the information.

The KB4103727 installed rather quickly, but did not get the Adobe update...

    Couple of questions.....

Important When installing both the servicing stack update (SSU) (KB4131372) and the latest cumulative update (LCU) from the Microsoft Update Catalog, install the SSU before installing the LCU.

What is the difference between the SSU and LCU?

On my system, Windows Update installed KB4103727 (LCU), but not KB4131372 (SSU). Shouldn't the automatic update follow the order of SSU and then LCU?

Manual dl/install went well. Preliminary checks look good and a thank you Brink for helping me avoid that nasty 1803 until things gets sorted.
