Actually, I think what you have given is a fix for a different issue. I'm talking about the 'Windows Insider Program manages this option' in red on the Feedback settings, not any problem with receiving updates:

    Attachment 187890
If you scroll down at "Feedback frequency", what does it say?

Quick download and installation for me. For some reason it said on Windows Update page just before I clicked Restart "Some settings are managed by your organisation" yet I'm on a home PC not in a school etc
Do you have any setting in Gpedit?

I have finally managed to install this cursed update. Network protocols still can not be uninstalled though.

It says 'Windows Insider Program manages this option' in red.

[BTW, I have got gpedit working now]

Never touch GP edit so I doubt it! It disappeared after a restart.

So that's why it's in red in the screenshot you posted. The fix I recommended will fix the frequency and the red label in the upper part.

You have that on the 'Diagnostic Data' setting, that's not what most of us see. Mine isn't greyed out. The 'Feedback Frequency' is the only setting to consistently be managed by the Insider Program whether you upgraded to 1803 or did a clean install (even if you have never been an Insider).

I have seen the issue I am reporting cited by many others. In any case, I'd sure like to get rid of it, and none of the gpedit/registry hacks put forward so far address it.

I have manually set the registry entries as described by Brink's tutorial. I have rebooted. I have used the gpedit method, and rebooted. Something else is going on - I don't think these registry entries are the problem.

Sorry to hear that. It seems very strange!...and definitely something is wrong
