Mine is working just fine, but the audio quality compared to my 7.1 USB headset is pure garbo Spoiled myself with that 7.1
LOL! I will eventually purchase some proper BT/wired headsets. I hate this cheap china crap. Not that there's anything wrong with the headsets themselves, but Windows does not like them very much. Android loves them, never have any issues there.

    Interesting!

I have no sound quality issues on Windows, only that either the headsets work or they don't. :)

I have Bose on my desktop and normally use 7.1 for my headset. It might be normal but to me BT sounds terrible in Windows.

I think your right that MS wants us to only use the apps from the store and predominantly their native ones. Trouble is I think the modern apps and their store is probably the buggiest part of windows 10. I would never ever install a large game from their store. The amount of trouble over the past few years Iíve had with their apps has been very grating. Especially when they update one of their native apps. The impact on other user accounts on the PCs we own is not always favourable. But I donít think they care to test how an updated app might work across user accounts other than the one it was updated on.
    I couldn't agree more, Scotty.

What a mess if I held myself to apps from the Store only! Some of those are really bad!

I tried to find Macrium and MBAM and could not. The only "major" (used advisedly) security app available is Norton. I saw no "major" backup apps either. There's no longer a way to search for an individual app! What you're shown seems to be what Microsoft wants you to have, so . . .

I say, "No, thanky," to the Microsoft store. I'll get the apps I know and trust from their official sites instead.

Another way to see it: It is like " being taken between a rock and a hard place". What can one do?. For now, Microsoft seems to have the upper hand..
Oh, no, they don't! I'll go to the official sites for those apps I know, trust and use regularly.

If you want a particular app and can't find it in the Store, just ask (for the official site) in the General or Windows Insider Forums. Someone will gladly post a link for you.

Just don't ask for any links outside Microsoft for Windows 10 Insider Builds! :) BTW, the "released" current version (1803) is generally available from any legitimate commercial source such as Amazon.com and Newegg.com.

    +1 .. Tnx @Gentlebreese !!
    .
Didn't have to update Nvidia here. Only disabled IObit service and tasks.
Not very uncommon for iobit making a mess. Think someone oughta notify em.
Use your feedback button, Nic. Things like this are what need to be pointed out to Microsoft.

And . . . don't think, "Oh, someone else has already given feedback on this," because the more feedback MS gets, the better the chance it will get resolved.

Oh! yes, they do as long as one is using Microsoft's OS (Windows). I don't want to start a debate on the subject here. And, that doesn't mean that one cannot install a third-party app, but it looks like more and more Microsoft is sending the signals between the lines that they would prefer the use of apps found in the Store, as I clearly pointed out in one of my previous posts.

For that reason, I might be using two operating systems in the foreseeable future. I am thinking about "The Amnesic Incognito Live System (Tails)" which I will be using when I want total, complete privacy. Just for reference:

You can remove the Store and ALL UWP apps altogether if you want to and run only native applications written in pure Assembly if you want to. There is nothing stopping you from doing that.

MS want's you to use Store apps because they add one additional security layer. But a Store app can also be written in pure Assembly if you want to. There is nothing that states it must absolutely 100% be an UWP app written in C# and using .NET framework. Only the packaging must comply with the store API.

You have hit the nail right on the head. That is, according to my understanding, why MS is kind of pushing for the store's Apps which according to your own saying, must comply with the store API. This way, there will be less bug issues when they release and install a Feature Update on one's computer..
