You're welcome, glad I could help.

SMB1 is old and insecure, but still essential for some of us with usb share on our routers, and for some NAS drives too.

I am not 100% sure but I think I found a fix for the taskbar refreshing. I went into Settings, System, Tablet mode and changed the settings to match this:

I have not see it refresh in about an hour since. I think it might stop it.

Probably because the deprecated SMB1 is turned off by default. While there are ways to see the network PCs without it, I need SMB1 turned on in 1803 to see my router's usb storage. The router only supports SMB1 sharing.

Enable or Disable SMB1 File Sharing Protocol in Windows | Windows 10 Tutorials
You can see network computers without SMB1 if you change host file and add IP with machine name (just a workaround)

Installed fine on three comps, here.

Additionally, it fixed a recent problem on one comp whereby Chrome couldn't access google secure pages. After HEAPS of googling etc I found it worked OK if I disabled IPv6 on the Intel network adaptor. After this update, I re-enabled IPv6 and all is now fine.

    Wow!

Second time within a few days that File Explorer/Windows Shell crashed on me and restarted.

I don't like this version of Windows at all. Very unreliable and has a lot of small glitches that seems to have been patched with bandage, just to hide the issues, but not fixing the underlying causes.

That has happened to me 3x since my clean install as well. Mine were related to click on Network in File Explorer. I guess it was still looking for HomeGroup which I never used.

you have some third party shell context menu dll that crashes explorer.exe

i had quicksfv for checking hashes after i removed that no crashes ..because i even couldnt run powershell from right click menu on win start button

i run shellxview and disabled third party context menu dlls that were enabled on right click menu by narrowing down with enabling one by one and seeing which one crashes it

Malwarebytes and 7zip is the only things on my right click menu that are not from Windows 10.
