Yep. Hyper-V and WSL work on r4RTM (my name). Redmond - YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH Build 17661.1001 on Skip Ahead and Fast Ring. So I've suspended getting Insider Builds.

I'd sure like confirmation of the HAL GSOD

Oh yeah. Glad you got it all worked out. That EVIL Avast Free!!!!!

But now that I can't use Avast, I'd love to know what the consensus is on this board of which is the better anti-virus/malware suite to use. Do you guys trust Defender (I've never liked it, and thus always shut it down), as I haven't used it in so long I'm not sure if they have improved it enough to be a stand alone. Or do most of you use a third party app, and if so which one? Thanks!
Gave up om 3rd party AVs long ago, just not needed any more. WD is doing just as good job as any without generating additional problems. Besides, it's foolish to depend on any AV without taking all other precautions like if there wasn't any. WD supplanted with Malwarebytes and ADWcleaner and other similar programs to target other suspected malware/adware in periodical system sweeps or when suspected something is fishy should be quite enough. For really safety conscious, try new programs thru Sandboxing. Regular backups are also useful in these and other situations anyway.

I fully endorse the above recommendations adding one extra for the REALLY security conscious the New Application Guard window.

I also endorse the above but would add Malwarebytes, because of my job, I would feel safer with it.

I'm sorry but won't be able to upload the 17661 to Onedrive until next week when there will be another build anyway. Has anybody else been able to use Hyper-V or WSL on this build?

Right click menu on Start, not working:
    Task manager
    File Explorer
    Windows power shell
    Windows power shell(Admin)
    Computer management
    Disk management
    Device manager
    Event viewer

All work when run from other places.

I updated from 17655, looks like those links are broken here.
