Windows 10 April 2018 Update now available Monday, April 30

I note the iso created with MCT does not have Win 10 S in it. I know later on some time, Win 10 S effectively disappears with each edition having an S mode but that is at least six months away. Surely current 10 S should be included in this iso?

Download as ISO file & then burn it to USB using Rufus.
That's what I had to resort to doing.

What you got with the MCT IS the April 2018 update, which IS 17134.1. If you did a clean install, and are not in the Insiders Program, and WU delivered you 17134.5, that is strange. Are you sure you're not in Insiders?
Just what Magilla and I have been discussing, Sgage. It stands to reason that he's still in the Insider Program, since he seems to be the only one who's gotten Build 17134.5.

Yes, it is the update, Magilla. However, I believe you're an Insider, so unless you quit the Insider Program on those computers, you just reinstalled the last two updates we Insiders have already installed back on April 20 and 23, if memory serves me correctly as to dates.
Well, all three of these computers are on insider program and I didn’t remember I needed to leave the program first and then install — hours Down the tube, huh? Thanks @Wynona for pointing out my mistake!

That's what I had to resort to doing.
Format usb drive as fat32
Mount iso as a drive
copy files from mounted drive to flash drive.
Make flash drive partition active from disk management for legacy bios pcs (or where it has been set in bios).
Rufus is not really needed unless making custom wims over 4GB in size.

All is not lost, Magilla. Just roll back to Build 17134.1 and then quit the Insider Program. You should be good to go and right up there (or down here) with the rest of us. :)

Well, folks, I jumped out of my comfort zone and into the deep waters . . . I allowed Cortana to help me out (not that I needed her help).
I clean installed the April 2018 Update onto my teaching computer, Lappy 17 (she isn't an Insider), and Cortana and I had a nice time setting things up. She sounds like a real person . . . I'm looking forward to checking out just how much she can do.
With the clean installation of the April 2018 Update, I can now say that "Set Defaults by App" works as it should.

It's a simple fix. Leave the Insider program with the last option on the list. It will leave the current Build as is.
Then you can use the Uninstall Update to remove the KB4135051 update and after a restart it will bring you back to 17134.1
I just did that on my systems and all is great.

Or just quit Insiders, and sit right where you are. Presumably everyone is going to get that CU that brings them to .5. If that turns out to be deprecated and a new CU supercedes that, well, then you can back it out. That's my plan - I've got .5 from Insiders. I have quit Insiders, and will just see what happens. If .5 turns out to be on the main road forward, fine. If not, also fine.
