    It seems that the problem with Sumatra only occurs in some cases, I have it installed and I have no problem.

    Got it, thanks. The first image initially confused me because it did not look like the problematic section. It seemed to be "choose apps by file type".

    Is timeline region locked? I don't see it, or how can I easily check if it's on? it just tells me the old stuff like that desktop-thingy
    Powershell admin.
    Force it:
    Code:
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System" /v "EnableActivityFeed"  /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f

    You are correct, the mistake was mine, I thought that in the image that I put in my first comment that page appeared, but no.

    Edit: I made a big mistake, I recorded that gif with an old version of Sumatra installed, this one, when installing a newer version, that page doesn't load and the app closes, my apologies for my mistake As several users have said, Sumatra is the cause of this bug.

    Apps seem ok but getting an error about family features every time I reboot. Also where is the Cortana daily feed when clicking her bar or circle? I thought it was maybe servers but it’s still missing this AM in UK. No news headlines, no local weather or other tidbits. Just some tips. Across multiple PCs
    I've noticed if you click on Tips when you click on the "Type here to search" you can navigate to News/Weather etc and it brings it up

    One annoying change in 1803 is you can no longer use group policy editor to stop Search/Cortana searching the web.

    This regedit disables web search.

    Disclaimer - It worked for me, but as with any regedit, backup registry first

    Paste text into say Search.Reg text file, and double click on it.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
    "CortanaConsent"=dword:00000000
    "AllowSearchToUseLocation"=dword:00000000
    "BingSearchEnabled"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Search]
    "ConnectedSearchUseWebOverMeteredConnections"=dword:00000000
    "AllowCortana"=dword:00000000
    "DisableWebSearch"=dword:00000001
    "ConnectedSearchUseWeb"=dword:00000000
