Windows 10 April 2018 Update now available Monday, April 30

Hi folks
Seems strange latest release wasn´t released to insiders before the general public as this rather obviates the whole process of having insider of beta testing surely.
Anyway two errors so far neither fatal but a bit irritating
Keyboard mapping stays ISL even when ENG selected and boot into ENG. Not a mega issue so long as I remember. Funny thing is when boot into ISL keyboard can change to ENG which is a bit pointless.
Targeted ads no way to turn that of an OS shouldn´t be a commercial platform to sell things whether amazon or anything else. Think that was in previous rel as well ö just block them if they appear ÐÐ!
Cheers
jimbo
It was, but not as an iso.

I think you have to go install it from the Store. It's there, if you want to check it out. Seems incomplete and underfeatured to me. but it's modern and shiny!
I think I'll stay with what works. Modern isn't necessarily better.

Hi Friends
Thank you Shawn @Brink for notifying us all about this update.
My laptop is running smoothly after performing a fresh install of Windows 10 Home Edition overnight and I'm now running Bitdefender Antivirus Free Version and Malwarebytes (Premium) as I had issues with Avast Premier Antivirus not opening after installing this update prior to running a fresh install.
Kind Regards
Neil :)

I note the iso created with MCT does not have Win 10 S in it. I know later on some time, Win 10 S effectively disappears with each edition having an S mode but that is at least six months away. Surely current 10 S should be included in this iso?
This is what is listed for my MSDN ISO's
Windows 10 (consumer editions), version 1803 (Updated March 2018) (x64) - DVD (English)
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 Home N
Windows 10 Pro
Windows 10 Pro N
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations N
Windows 10 Pro Education
Windows 10 Pro Education N
Windows 10 Core Single Language
Windows 10 Education
Windows 10 Education N
Windows 10 (business editions), version 1803 (Updated March 2018) (x64) - DVD (English)
Windows 10 Pro
Windows 10 Pro N
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations
Windows 10 Pro for Workstations N
Windows 10 Pro Education
Windows 10 Pro Education N
Windows 10 Education
Windows 10 Education N
Windows 10 Enterprise
Windows 10 Enterprise N
No 10 S, its now a mode. No product codes listed for it either under Windows 10 1803.

I was messing with desktops and something glitched and pc kept switching between them automatically and I could not get control of PC, so I restored a 17134.5 image made a few days ago. Now the "fun" began. I went to check if still on Insider, and it said I had an issue with my account, and click "fix me".
So I did, and it came up with a weird message about security settings, and basically nothing happened even if rebooting.
I then tried to leave the Programme, and it DID NOT have the option to leave, only to leave when the release build was issued.
I suspect this is because I was on 17134.5. So I then tried to do a repair upgrade to force it back to 17134.1 (in hindsight, I should have tried to remove the .5 update) but then the repair upgrade failed, and it reverted to 17134.5 - back to square 1.
A few colourful words later, and I restored FCU which I never put on Insider, and then reupgraded using official MS iso. This sorted things apart from a minor glitch with some pinned tikes being blank even after reboots. I unpinned and repinned and that fixed that.
I also had an issue with netplwiz not working but I tried the old trick of changing to a local account and back, and that worked.
So now, all fine and fully image backed up.
Am I correct that cumulative update for 17134.5 is still onky available for Insiders?

Hello Cereberus
I'm glad you finally got things working on your computer.
I'm assuming you have already referred to Shawn's @Brink article regarding your query on CU 17134.5?

Hi there
I guess so -- 1803 1734.1 shows no updates - system up to date.
Also on the old "unofficial one" build 1733.1 it did a looooong !!! update to 1734.1
Can't see any difference between the 2 although I suppose I ought to ditch the update from the old system and clean install.
BTW Language system seems to be hosed up on latest release -- the language options have disappeared from the conrol panel and I can't get alternative keyboards for the languages installed so whether logged on in Eng or ISL I can only use ISL layout and there's no option I can find anywhere that allows me to add UK keyboard as input method.
Cheers

You can get local experience packs in the store. I presume they are the same as language packs

All languages are done from settings menus now. Just click on language in settings and click on options, and then in next screen you can add keyboards.
