USB drive media created - took about 15-20 min. Now installing on first victim...
Wow, the download went really fast and it's already at 66% on the install ... which makes me a bit nervous :)
Extracting the ISO from the tool takes about 20-30 min. and works on the admin account only. MediaCreationTool1803.exe (18.2 MB) shows 17134.1 in properties. ISO is 3.63 GB.
Download Windows 10
Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803
I'm surprised to see this in Windows auto-update, no need to manually do it from the website this time. :)
My mom’s computer automatically downloaded and installed the update.
Just read that blog myself. Interesting thing, this 'Machine Learning'....
...it's just decided my ancient 2011 Toshiba (that's wasn't even on Toshiba's compatibility list for the first release of Windows 10) is ready for 1803. Looks like the so-called 'phased rollout' is going to be over in just one phase. :)During the Fall Creators Update roll out we pilot tested machine learning (ML) to intelligently select devices that our feedback data indicated would have a great update experience. The results from the pilot were promising, and we consistently saw a higher rate of positive update experiences for devices identified using ML. For the April 2018 Update rollout, we will expand our use of ML to identify the devices ready to update, incorporating things like additional compatibility data. This will allow us to deliver updates to devices as fast as possible while providing even better customer experiences.
I was doing so nicely and nearly had my usb driver drive completed when I accidentally formatted the wrong drive sigh.
All installed without a hitch here so far. Setup a PIN though but didn't mean to.
