Would it be worth upgrading from a 256 gig 850 Pro to the 970 evo? I actually love my 850 Pro. Plus the 10 year warranty is awesome. But it is a bit old.

Probably not if you have to change it but M.2 and SATA SSDs can coexist.

I would replace the 850 pro. I also have a WD 4 TB Black for my user and programs storage. I thought it might be worth it to replace the 850 pro to a newer m.2 970 evo. My MB is the ASUS Sabertooth Z170s model.

I would still keep that 860 too, I use my old SATA ssd still after installing Samsung 960 evo. I was using it at first to hold W7 but now only to install games on it instead on 2 other HDDs.

Is there an advantage over the 960 Pro?

Marginal, I wouldn't bother going from a 960 to 970 unless you have disposable income.

    What about a 850 pro to a 970 evo?
