Desktop went fine after getting .371 yesterday finally .....

New Acer Laptop also updated to .371 yesterday was the weirdest Update I have seen , Bluescreen crash at 80% on restart with some sort of memory Error , it rebooted to .371 and tried again but didn't appear to do anything , so I applied the fix I used yesterday to get .371 and restarted to let it try again
    ie: Cumulative Update KB4093112 Windows 10 v1709 Build 16299.371 - Apr. 10 - Page 12 - Windows 10 Forums

It didn't seem to work correctly and when I checked with Winver I was back on 299.15 ???? , so I let it try again and after several restarts on it's own ( I thought it was it a bootloop at 1st) it finally restarted had .420.

People just don't need that kind of Stress :)

Last night, I downloaded and installed KB4093105 MSU for Windows 10 v1709 64 bit and installed it on Lappy 17 with Build 16299.371 and everything went well. So far, everything seems to work fine.

Next, I did a clean install of 16299.15 on this dual boot desktop. Installation went well and I then used the same USB stick to install KB4093105 MSU for Windows 10 v1709 64 bit to the clean install. Everything seemed to go well, but . . .

When I went to open Skype, it wasn't there! Nowhere! Nada. Zilch! OK, this wasn't a big deal, since I don't care for the new Skype and use Skype version 7.41.32.101 instead. However, the missing Skype is something I certainly didn't expect!

But . . . when I went to Facebook to play a very important video, no videos will play. Instead, I'm told I haven't trusted this site! Do What!!!??? After trying every browser I have, I gave up and moved to Lappy. Remember that Lappy also has just been updated to Build 16299.402. The video played there without issue! OK, so I then boot this desktop to Insider Build 17134.1 and the video plays there as well.

So, now, I'm really wondering . . . With all the Facebook brouhaha, and the fact that this is a brand new install, have things changed at FB (or Windows 10) so that I'm required to "trust" sites I go to?

    I'm also wondering why Skype didn't install . . .

    Anyone have any answers?

Very easy update on two laptops. I guess the feature update is cancelled this month?

Why do you say that? They continue patching the older versions, 1607/1703 received updates just last week.

Well, because there is no feature update which was expected two weeks ago, today, etc.

My 2nd PC updated on this really fast. After the Windows Update settings page say restart, it took 2 minutes before reboot and only 2 minutes updating on restart. Logged in and done. Not bad at all.
