Are they depreciating or killing Run and msconfig ? Run is not remebering commands and msconfig has lost some functions. I was trying to make a clean boot but "Selective startup" > "Load startup items" when cleared doesn't do anything. All startup items load anyway.
I believe RUN not remembering is a bug. On my main laptop it never remembers but in vms and other backup laptop it does remember.

I think same is true of msconfig but less sure.

Win+r (run) works as yet -->

    And remembers.
But I've got other strange things - maybe because of tweaking. Insiding cost something. 🤷😎

Sorry geeks, the embedded tweet above joins two links strangely together, short URL for TF Saturday Live Chat thread and link to YouTube video.

Regarding the Win+r (run) mentions, mine was wiped clean upon this upgrade, and that NEVER happens (or at least it's been so many years that I don't recall when it happened last). It does seem to remember new items, though I haven't tested whether it remembers past a reboot (I assume it will).

    Hi folks

I've wondered whether Windows would come out with a "Windows Embedded" for things like diskless workstations and "thin client" type of machines.

Would be a good idea -- so maybe this Windows Lean is something on those lines.

Windows XP embedded lasted for ages on Point of Sale (unfortunately the POS abbreviation on the internet means something quite different !!!) stuff and even ATM's if I remember.

Otherwise I can't really see the point as Windows itself has some pretty "lean" versions as servers.

I mean Windows without a GUI -- it's rather like a pub with no booze in it -- what would you call Windows with no GUI -- DOS64 or something !!!!

However the concept could be interesting.

    Cheers

Is anyone else losing Sets on a regular basis? I have to re-run the 'fix' to get Sets back but run the CMD pointing to different folder each time for it to work. (Seems like every other day)

No issues of that sort on my end. Perhaps it's unique to those who used the fix to operationalise it.
