Ribbon is still squashed when you open Explorer in Sets maximized!

Physical - The useless Windows 10 Insider Preview 17650.1001 (rs_prerelease) - Error 0x8007000 immediately after checking.
Going to run setup from the iso .... Failed at 83% before the first reboot. I have a few ideas about how to continue before I do a clean install. But I better deal with the aninals and chat some sleep.

My Windows tablet gives GSOD when I restart for the upgrade. Done it twice already.
Hi @Kari, this may be of interest for you to try.

I had problems with upgrading 17134 on my tablet. I got it upgraded using HyperV and Macrium Reflect.

Of course, I am assuming you can get tablet back to its condition before you tried to upgrade including all drivers.

To make life easier, install Macrium Reflect Free on tablet and add a boot entry.

It is slightly trickier if you have a 32bit Uefi tablet as HyperV does not support 32bit uefi so you have to convert to legacy bios to do upgrade.

    1) back up tablet with Macrium Reflect

    2) Restore image image backup to 50GB virtual hard drive vhdx initialised as mbr. If your tablet is 64bit uefi, initialise as gpt.

    3) Create gen1 vm if tablet is 32 bit, gen 2 if 64 bit and select the vm from step 2.

    4) If 32bit, set Vm to boot from Macrium Rescue iso. You can skip this step if 64bit

    5) If 32bit, run Macrium Reflect "Fix window boot problems" and select system partition when asked to put boot files. Skip this if 64bit

    6) Boot into hyperv vm

    7) Expand C drive to fill all space on VHD to give headroom for upgrade

    8) Upgrade installation

    9) Do disk cleanup etc. - check installed files less than say 30 GB

    10) Shutdown vm, mount vhd as a drive and image backup C partition only to a flash drive.

    11) Boot tablet into Macrium Reflect and restore C image partition from flash drive to tablet, over writing existing C partition

    12) If 32bit, Run Macrium Reflect "fix windows boot problems".
Step is not needed if 64bit.

You can apply technique to pcs, laptops etc. Somehow, vms always seem to upgrade smoothly.

What would be the best alternative for Office 365?
