Just read they fixed this issue in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17650 Skip Ahead.

"We fixed an issue resulting in some people experiencing a Settings crash when navigating to Apps > Default Apps > Set defaults by App."

I've never had that one installed, so I don't know what to say except I still have it. So, maybe we need to uninstall all third party apps to figure out which one(s) it is? :)
Yeah, good luck with that. I'm running a pretty barebones system here, just some dev tools and a lot of game clients (Steam, Origin, Uplay, ...), so I don't think I can help, elimination-wise.

But yeah, it was fixed in skip ahead - Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Skip Ahead Build 17650 - Apr. 19 Insider - Windows 10 Forums

I wonder what the implications are for RS4 - will we see a new build soon, or CU?

Surely they don't do a new build for such a minor bug? Seems CU-fixable.

If they even bother with it but yes a CU should do it. This will be what the 4th attempt at getting the RS4 final??

That's what I'm thinking. Get 'er done, and let's move on...

My pdf reader was set to Chrome so I set it to Edge and it still failed.
I use Adobe as my default PDF reader.

Having any other app that is not made by MS as default.
    Bull, Malarky, Doo Doo!

Although I don't discount that there is some code in more than one third party or Microsoft app that may be causing the problem. Remember too, that the Store carries apps that are built by OEMs other than Microsoft.

This rather proves my earlier point where the media were saying "Oh no - its is going to be delayed due to bug found.", and I said article had no evidence to support the bug was a major bug. If it is fixed in Skippy, it must be a relatively easy fix in 17134 as well.

Actually, for my money, the rotten code could be anywhere; games, production, PDF, etc., etc.

Hmmmm, so if they can fix it in Skippy, it makes me wonder why they didn't fix it in Build 17134.1. Seems like we Insiders either get chicken or feathers. And it's feathers more often than not. :) However, for awhile those on Skippy were left with the feathers.

And, what's really ironic is that I don't set my default apps that way. I choose default apps by file type.
