    A-HA!!!
    With Sets, hold Ctrl while selecting certain apps from the Start Menu and they will open in a new tab in the existing window!!!

    Yes, this is working much better now!
    Ctrl+Select opens the app in a new tab to the right of the currently focused tab. If the window of tabs has lost focus, the app will open in it's own window.
    Forget searching in a new Edge tab for apps, this is way more intuitive!
    The arrows at the left and right also move the whole group of tabs over, not just one at a time.
    You have to train it to remember window positions and sizes!

    The 'Tabs from last time' and Alt+Tab is still glitchy though.

    One never know what hidden gems some developers have put in their code. I've seen it before.
