So I'm having problems on one system with these 2 updates: KB4093112 cume and KB4093110 flash.
They both keep saying "awaiting restart", but never install - always fail and then another "awaiting restart" shortly afterwards.
When I checked in Control Panel>Programs and Features>View Installed Updates for them, KB4093112 was there and showing as installed, but not flash. So I downloaded both of them from the Update Catalog. Neither will install, giving the message "KBxxxxxxx is already installed on this system". Ran Windows Update Troubleshooter, but no good; still problems. All DISM+SFC scan show no problems.

    Update:

New "Known issues in this update" has been added for KB4093112 on the first page.

"After applying KB4093112, some users may experience unexpected panning or scrolling in certain apps while using the pen."

    Had a very similar issue:

Alongside with this CU there was the other one - for Adobe Flash. Interestingly, it kept saying of a system restart pending as well. It seemed like a system restart was NOT recognised by Windows Update for whatever reason.
    SOLUTION was:

Ten seconds upon executing the following code

    Code:
    SC config wuauserv start= auto
    SC config bits start= auto
    SC config cryptsvc start= auto
    SC config trustedinstaller start= auto
a proper system restart initiated, now I have both KB4093110 and KB KB4093112 show up in appwiz.cpl in windows updates, status installed.

Thanks usikpa. I'll give it a go when I have access to that system again.

Once I got the same problem on a old laptop with Win7 after a update and never understood why this happens so I tried to see if someone could say if it's me being stupid or Windows being Windows :)

I know updates are important but man they are also annoying!

I've seen that happen before on some systems - seems it has to do with 3rd-party AVs. Just my opinion though, I have no facts to base that on - just what I've seen on other systems (and I work on a lot of systems).

I think the old laptop with Win7 had avast but this I'm using right now with Win10 has only Windows Defender and Malwarebytes free version. I don't think Malwarebytes can damage something since it's not in real time protection but I'm not a expert :)

Well since no one has any ideas guess I will just accept and move on since everything is fine now! Can't say it would be good to avoid that in the future!
