IMHO MS cannot afford to wait another two weeks, that would make them look really bad. Not goad PR.

They can wait as long as they want as far as I'm concerned, what would be really bad PR is being rushed into releasing a build that is known to fail on some PCs.

Whether RTM ends up as being 17133 or 17134 - your guess is as good as mine. I just want it to work when it's released :)

Almost as bad as a release that breaks a lot of people's installations. Just sayin'...

Not sure how it would be bad PR, 95% of Windows users don't even know about 1803.

They would have to rename it to The Summer Creative Update.

I do not personally care how long it takes but some OEM's may. Just want some official announcement from Microsoft. There are many users that still are not on Windows 10 and this delay will not help getting people off of Windows 7 or XP. When a company announces that a release is Final then it they should live up to their word or not release it. MS is loosing a great deal of credibility not just over this but their change of the service agreement that they can change willy nilly or at will. I also thought that MS was no longer using the term RTM.

OEMs only care about how many devices they sell and how much they can profit from them. They are in absolutely no hurry to use any OS that is patched together with a bunch of sticky notes. If the release of next version takes 2 months longer than planned, so what. It's just a feature development plan and not written in stone in anyway. Plans change.

MS will lose credibility if they release a premature Frankenstein's Monster instead of a reliably working Operating System. :)

I have hardware from 2012 purchased in 2013. I have not had a single Windows 10 Update bork my PC that was MS fault. The single update that destroyed my system was the one to .334 and it was not MS fault. I had a firewall that blocked the Store and other things from auto installing things. When that update came through and Windows could not update stuff, my start menu, action center and more would not work. This was my fault for blocking stuff to a point. I blame me 80% and the firewall 15% in that situation. I ended up having to clean install to get everything working.

That being said, they have had a nice track record with Windows 10 for me. I would like to see them take their time and keep it this way. It had been since Windows XP the last time an update totally borked my PC.

EDIT: changed the pct on them to add 5% to MS for not alerting my firewall had blocked things related to an update.

And when the users of these machines start blaming the OEM they will lose customers and NOT MS. They do care as they cannot release any new machines without a Final build of 1803. They will have to still release PC's with 1709 on it. As releasing a Premature Frankenstein Monsters, it seems that they have already done that and tried to fix it with a Wolfman's CU.

But only to us Lab Testers.
