You're not perfectly safe on dual boot either. There was a bug a year or so ago in Insider build, that make booting problematic on the both system partitions...

I would run Insider on only production machine (if there was only one) but with Good backup solution Make system image restore and you're 15 minutes away of working system...
The only bug I found was that when I updated or installed a CU on the production partition, it would stop dual booting to the Insider partition and I'd have to repair bootup.

Of course, I save files to an external hard drive that I detach when doing updates and such. Not gonna take too much of a chance. And, a backup with Macrium Reflect is always good to have.

Only if you had it for #AllInsiders, not just for Devs. And if you came a little closer than just the major cities. I can't be driving nine hours to get to Dallas or Houston.

Strange things happening....despite numerous attempts trying to get sound to work earlier including reinstalling, shutting down etc, without success....now some hours later all working perfectly....await with bated breath, far too early to hope all is well....

I noticed in this thread, that these last couple of updates have given members(including myself), a variety of different problems.

As much as one wants to blame Microsoft, it's not them.
All the new hard ware that has come out on the market in the last year-year and a half, makes it impossible to test on everything.
I mean how many new CPUs have come out from Intel and AMD? How many new GPUs and graphics cards.
New chipsets, motherboards & UEFI BIOS, sounds chips(built in sound cards), the list goes on & on.

I guess something has to go wrong somewhere.

I have even had to switch to the Microsoft generic USB cam & mic drivers, because the Logitech ones don't work anymore(probably a certificate problem again, them and Samsung are forgetful or lazy about that for sure.

I suspect M$ are fixing Release Preview bugs as soon as notified....reason being two reported this morning appear to be fixed.

Sound being one...the other Weather App.

Well, I am having the exact same issues I've mentioned so far, on all my devices, including on VMs. Well some stuff isn't even available on a VM, but still. I blame MS for everything!

I sure hope so! And I really hope they have fixed PowerShell ISE by then too. I am crippled without it.
