    Hi,

I can tell you now that 16299.371 FCU runs faster than the newest now "unofficial" RTM RS4.
    +1

    Cheers,

    My post eluded to that.
Not only that, but your post alluded to that.

I can't understand how they can have a blocking issue with the regular Insider Build(s), yet proceed with Skippy! Can anyone explain why?
The criteria for releasing a new feature update to the general public are a lot more strict than the for skip-ahead builds, which are in early development and very very beta. I reckon they're aiming for a release-ready build, and that's what they're trying to cook up for Insiders to test before the general release.

It sure would help if MS would communicate more and better. What I can't understand is why they allow all the rumor and misinformation to bubble up and still don't really explain what's going on. Oh well, 'twas ever thus.

I had no blocking issues just that RS4 took nearly a hour to install on my fast SSD. I think the MCT is faster which I will be using whenever it comes out officially but I am in no rush. Timeline feature is just a ad for the Edge browser. I use Firefox mostly and sometimes Chrome and they don't work in Timeline only Edge which I never use.

The Blocking issue as I understand it is that some users on RS3 cannot update to it.

Now, as of today is a good time to start thinking about building an AMD workstationThe media embargo on the X470 chipset boards has been lifted.and:
Yeah, got my eye on the 2700x!!!!! But would love to see the performance differences it would have between the x370 and x470 mobo's. I'm very curious how big a difference it really is.

Well after some Bing-Fu and searching Feedback hub, I now know why Cortana looks like this on both Spring update builds, when opened. I miss the "Proactive" cards that would show news & weather

But I'm sure(100% sure,) that the users that can't adjust to change, really like this Win7 Start & search look.

In the previous feature updates of Windows 10 (including the Fall Creators Update), there were two places to go to see the next action you might need to take: Cortana and Action Center. We heard feedback that this was confusing as it wasn’t clear where to go. The fact that Cortana’s insights and recommended actions lived outside of Action Center also made it impossible to focus Cortana’s user interface on Cortana’s natural language and search capabilities. To fix both of these problems, Cortana’s proactive content is going to migrate to Action Center so that you have one place to go to find out what action to take next and to see the important insights Cortana has for you. This frees up Cortana’s user interface to provide tips, educating customers about what can be said to Cortana, and to provide tools for search so that you can get the information you need as quickly as possible. You will see the first part of this change starting with build 17017 with Cortana no longer offering proactive content. Over time, you will see the proactive content that used to be available in Cortana show up in Action Center.

My feelings and experience of 17133.73

On a very positive note, I switched my main system to Release Preview April 8th because I was impatient, and wanted the (what we thought was going to be)RTM now.

In my Insider VM, I couldn't use some of the new stuff that communicates with the BIOS, like Ultimate Power(only used when I run benchmarks) in Power options, or the newer security settings, like Core Isolation in Device Security, so I pulled the trigger.

After setting things up, and now using it for the last 6 days, I must say the system is much more responsive, and Even Edge is much faster loading pages.

I thought that turning on Memory Integrity(Core Isolation) might slow things down a little, but...
Actually my system is faster. Even faster than before I did all the things to protect against the speculative execution vulnerabilities(Spectre).

Now some benchmark scores have gone down a few points, but these are artificial loads designed to find the smallest weakness under multitasking. For normal day to day use though, Win10 on 17133.73 is really snappy.

Only negative was that Memory Integrity wouldn't let my Logitech C270 webcam's drivers run for the camera and mic it has
(Logitech is VERY sloppy about getting their drivers certified for Secure Boot).
I found, after a half hour of troubleshooting) that Microsoft provides generic USB camera drivers, and they work perfectly.

It works perfectly, I never used the bloatware Logitech sends with their drivers anyhow

Hmmm. If I enable Memory Integrity and reboot, it hangs at the reboot (first stage).
