Thanks for checking. sfc /scannow was clean so I think I need a clean install (will wait to see what version though).
sfc /scannow is the most useless tool. It always says it is clean even that time I corrupted Office and had to restore a older image.

I do not know if it even scans office. When I had Office 2010 it never did.

Never has done - never will do. It's just the OS files that it checks...

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files

OK, here's my humble opinion... MS have no clue about rolling releases.
Debian has been doing it since forever -- I certainly can't recall a single instance when their releases were 'recalled' (MS keeps everyone in the dark specifically to avoid public humiliation should they not meet expectations (This is not how it works in the real world - most companies have a set milestones that are clearly communicated and needs to be met)

The Insider testing program (with all it's telemetry should really have prevented this (delay in RTM)... if they took it seriously... but Ninja cats are more important it appears -- I even got a request on the Dev Centre to vote for the best Ninja cat - I don''t even know what that entails!?)

Now that I found out that this is not RTM I went back to 16299.371 using my Macrum backup image. I will only update to RS4 when I can install it using the Media Creation Tool.

Same here I got backups from two months ago when I did a clean install of the FCU so I am not worried.
Ummmmmm, I think I'd have a little newer backup, myself. :)
