Lost Realtek audio control with update - is present on FCU but not on latest fast download. Tried to load it from Realtek website, from forum website, and from Asus mobo driver disk. No go. I have sound but Realtek app on taskbar and control panel is nowhere to be found so cant tweek sound. Also no mic so can’t play with cortana’s New interfacing apps. I can play on my Intel desktop because it has video - audio - mic control app that didn’t go away.

Realtek 8356 driver works perfectly for me. Updated from driver that was on CD that came with MB.

Download on this skippy build is fast, am making iso - ready to restart in 25 minutes

i think I’ll use macrium and restore last build, then download current fast build again to see what happens. As I say, on my main drive that has FCU installed, no problems. Realtek works without problems.

A lot of tweaking can be done in Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab. Right click on your playback output and select Properties. The disappearing Realtek app icon has been an ongoing problem. I managed to solve that by creating a shortcut on an occasion when the icon was available in the Control Panel and have been able to access the app via that shortcut ever since, whether Realtek updates provide access or not.

Doesn’t show up on control panel, either. Thanks @larc919 for suggestion.

Total time, including making iso with UUP to ISO was 66 minutes. seems to be stable. Cortana is very responsive. Notebook and skills management interesting.
