i had no problems in the previous build, i just use the external drive for backups although it's about 4 years old.
Since it's been giving intermittent problems, I'd suspect it about the same as I would Windows.

If I were you, I'd back up to something else, just in case the drive is going bad. Maybe back up to Microsoft's OneDrive as a security measure.

This is what made me suspect the drive is dying; inconsistently being the key word:

i'm getting USB connection problems with my external Seagate HDD. the has been happening inconsistently sine the last few builds.

One thing to check is if USB selective suspend is enabled. If it is, an external USB HDD wil be put to sleep / disconnect after being idle for a while.

On my laptop, I keep it disabled when plugged in, only enabling it when on battery.

I have windows Store, and it is working fine. I have about 12 external WD hdd drives, and they connect and work fine, except one old one which seems to have died. And every other function I have tested seems to be working well. EXCEPT, my bluetooth keyboard, which worked for a few hours, and then the connection crapped out. Other than that, it's all peaches...

This is insane. I let my Insider Partition update normally to build 17127 and although the WU process took around 45 min, when I clicked on the restart button to update to this build, it only took 8 min!

Usually, if I use the UUP Dump method where I use the mini server to get the latest build and then mount the ISO to upgrade to the latest build, it takes around 20-30 min.

    Insane optimization! Thanks Microsoft!

Quick and easy here. Google Backup & Sync still resets after a build upgrade -- not sure if it's because I have my libraries moved into the G Drive folder since it does not seem that everyone has this issue.

I have this issue and I also have moved the location from the default so that could be the problem.

I was surprised with the speed, I checked settings and a restart was requested, and by the time I had made a cup of tea it was waiting for the PIN.
