    Hi,
Caution is always a good trait to have :)
Wonder how many people made a system image before lol or did MS give you time too

    Hi,
Kind of lazy to rely on MS roll back to put humpy dumpy back together again :)

I shoot an image of every machine every night using MR. Can always go back to yesterday if needs must. Updated 4 of 5 PCs on the Current Branch release. "The Boss" is using her machine right now, so I'll start updating when she heads into the kitchen to start dinner in about half an hour. So far, so good: no issues on any those PCs.

Disk Clean-up took a long time, but not unusually so.
    I noticed that too. . .
I wonder if this could be a factor ?

Every Monday morning, Macrium Reflect makes a full backup; each day, including Monday but later, Reflect makes an update of whatever has changed in the past 24 hours.

Once a day, Restore Point Creator creates a new Restore Point.

Finally, I make a copy in my scriptorium.... (My academic background is in Medieval Studies.)

I do an image backup a couple of restarts after a new update ... that way I don't end up with a pending update in my backup :)

I currently don't make significant changes to the OS. If I did, that's a new image. My data is a separate and backed up separately.

Several months ago, I turned off the option to have Windows download updates from PC's on my home network (only 2 of us), or PC's elsewhere on the internet. Since doing that, I have received ZERO monthly updates. Just the usual Defender and Malicious tool downloads automatically.

Clicking on "Check for Updates" doesn't find any of the KG/Quality updates either. After a day or two, I just use the direct download link that's at the start of each monthly thread here.

Could having that "Get updates from other PC's" option turned OFF, be the culprit?

Did a MR image before checking for updates. Noticed that the image took quite longer than normal. However, when finished with the image, went to SoftwareDistribution/Downloads and it was packed with files. Went to check for updates and was greeted with the "Restart" button. Convenient? perhaps, but it did the download and install without notice. Don't know if I am "ticked" off nor not.
