They will release it when they are ready. It's a big job.

I'm not sure I'm going to do an actual build upgrade this time around. My wife's laptop maybe, if it does it on its own before I get to it. I plan on doing one install with the MCT ISO. Install Home, then go to Pro, Education and Enterprise if it will let me. I want to see if the generic keys work etc. That PC already has DL's for each Edition. Then do the same thing with my Visual Studio VL Subscription ISO on another PC. I want to see if it uses the DL's that PC already has or makes me enter my MAK keys. I'll use the VL generic keys on that one, if it lets me. I also want to see if my laptops OEM embedded key for Windows 8 is picked up. It's been ignored the last couple of builds. I have no idea why, but its fine my me.

Upgrading from Home to PRO etc, using generic keyd stopped working in FCU. You need to use a valid key, or alreadt have a digital licence for version you want to upgrade to i.e. you cannot upgrade to an unactivated version now, only clean install unactivated.

MS do not officially announce the release ahead of time in case it has to be delayed to fix any last minute significant issues.

It is only the media who state release dates pretending they have 'privileged' info, but they are just speculating like us.

Give it a week. Although Build 17133 is most likely going to be the Spring Creators Update (since no new features are added anymore), there might still be a lot of fixes to be made. Also takes time to make sure the official binaries are properly packaged and configured. There are also a lot of work to do still, to make sure upgrades from previous Windows versions work without glitches and that recovery tools do what they are supposed to. The final revision number might still change significantly.

I don't think even they know exactly when but approximate date has been known for at least a year. Even time is usually 10AM in Redmond. They will announce it when it became AVAILABLE and that's no guarantee everybody will get it at same time.

Yep. Some has just been offered and upgraded to Fall Creators Update. That is a 6month delay from it's release. :)
