You must have Cortana turned off - are you using version 1709?

No, it's a 'regional' thing - Norway isn't on the list...

I didn't think about that. I checked, and sure, still only a few languages are supported at the moment. I'm just lucky because I always have my OS, and all other software, installed in English. My region is set to Belgium, but my Default language is set to English (US) instead of Dutch.

And my English language pack is of course also the Windows display language. My Dutch language pack is only used for the rare occasions when I write in Dutch. :)

Have you tried setting it to France to see if she comes on. I guess you could then return it to Belgium and see if she remains.

I have French location and US English display language. Seems to work if I put in any English Cortana language so I don't think location matters (although they say it doesn't work as well...)

The default cortana language for my combination is undefined so you have to set it to something (anything) in the settings app to turn it on or it just says "I'm afraid I'm not available to help in your region"

They talk about cortana being available in certain markets to use their vernacular.

it's called 1803 update on both of my updates that's all the name I need - the fact that the final version came out in April to me is irrelevant, as within a few months it'll be history and we'll be on 1809, probably early October

I do not know why so many users get so wound up about a name, as long as you know you are on the current latest correct build you're good to go - Release 1803 build number 17134.1 or 1803 17134.1 tells me or anyone else needing the information for maintenance or support reasons need to know,

    although ... ...

Architecture 32Bit or 64Bit is important , as of course is the version Home Pro Enterprise Etc
