The easiest way that I know of telling an App from an Application, ( I'm not stating that this is foolproof), If you right click on a Start Menu Shortcut, (tile), and then click on More ... you will see an entry for Open File Location if you are looking at a traditional Application ... this is not present on Apps.
Thanks, up until now, I didn't give it much thought. I don't usually install much other than office. I spend much more time uninstalling all the junk games etc you get on a clean install. Candy crush etc.

It will be interesting to see what shows up on "My Visual Studio" Subscription, and how that's handled? Presently I have keys for the old 10 S. And 10 S is an install option in the Edition list on the ISO. How you will install in S mode I have no Idea? I'm sure that info will come at some point.

    Hello @ThrashZone, :)

It should be able to remove "Paint 3D" unless it's either in use, or the current user doesn't have it installed.

The way I understand it apps will be installed using the approved apps in the store only, following normal procedure I am not sure If installation of anything will be available to the user in User mode, and Thus Admin mode or some other specific user/mode will be a requirement to install an additional app.

The S is aimed as a system for use in schools/colleges, and was originally only based on Pro, but not sure what will be the perceived market for Home S - Phone Users, Children?

    Hi,
I'm restoring a system image I believe it's still on it and I haven't exclusively removed paint 3D
I've never used it so it wasn't open
Last I saw it was still in the all apps list uninstallable that way

I do get a lot of red type using the apps removal except store reg :/
    Never really understood why frankly

I found it useful back in the day as it was a free way to run a licenced copy of XP so as to Support clients with Either XP or 7
Wasn't W7's XP Mode limited to Ultimate and Enterprise?

For some reason (I can't remember now) users were better off installing something Like VMware Player/Workstation and then creating an XP VM using that.

    Hey Peter, :)

Yep, XP Mode is only supported by Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise.

It's normal to see red when running the command to uninstall all apps except Store.

The red is for the apps that can't be uninstalled for whatever reason. Usually, because it's an app used by Windows. It'll tell you why though.

    Hi,
    Thanks for that :)
Well the last action I did that I remember I just changed paint 3D from being default
After I suppose several or at least more than one restart paint 3D is no longer listed in all apps wasn't listed after restoring the system image :)
    So I guess it's just a delayed removal :/
    Cheers.
