    Hi,
Just imagine the default win-10 home or pro installer
Uncheck nothing from the options page or setup page
    Use a MS account
Once you hit the desktop everyone would be in S Mode :)
Only setting that would not exist is side loading apps and allow installing apps from anywhere.

This is the same one gets from an iphone or android phone they can only install apps from their stores.
Hello win-10 mobile version for pc :)

I found it useful back in the day as it was a free way to run a licenced copy of XP so as to Support clients with Either XP or 7

Having attended a couple of S-related sessions this week at the MVP summit, I can confirm that MS is thinking HARD about these questions. The MVPs also gave them plenty of input on this topic to chew over. We'll be hearing a lot more about this officially and publicly later this year (my best guess).

If Windows 10 ever only permits apps from their store I will stop using it and go back to Linux.

S mode is a system that only allows the user to run Windows Apps from the store

Windows XP Mode was an optional add-on that allowed you to run an XP Virtual Machine in Windows 7 Pro X64 (without purchasing an additional licence for XP ), it was provided to allow the user to run certain XP programs that did not follow enough of the WDK to work correctly natively in W7

It was developed for those businesses that had bespoke software written for XP, and were unable to get this upgraded for whatever reason. One good feature for business was that it allowed the icon to be displayed on the desktop and when clicked it would invoke the VM and switch to it - Great for those users that get confused easily
Do you know if it has applets like Notepad for instance as win32 ?
