Thanks to the thread creator for providing the Stand-Alone download link. My Windows-10 "check for update" button only brings in Windows Defender updates over the past 2 months. Have to come to this valuable forum to see what's available.

Could my Windows-10 P.C. be "mad" at me because I turned off the "download updates from any computers"...or some wording to that effect? I was told that this is a security risk, so I turned off that ability 2 months ago.
Don't know what version of windows you have (Pro vs Home), but since I've set via the Group Policy editor, to exclude Drivers, Windows update rarely sends me anything but Defender updates or security updates. I don't have any proof, but I used to get updates really early (almost as fast as the Brits get them), but since them most of the time I have to manually install them.

    Hi,

Same setting here but I do receive all updates just like most folk around here.

    Cheers,

My computers don't find the update until I manually click the button to search for updates. These computers are on and online 24/7 and will say that they last searched for updates 'today' like 3 or 6 hours ago, yet would not find the update when left to themselves. I don't get it.

    Hi,
Updates from others on the internet or you sending updates to others on the internet is I believe what you're referring to
No I've always had that option off
I do switch it to updates on my network first but still disable it
It's senseless to be a MS server

I still don't have this update here in the UK and manually checking just reports that everything is up to date (sometimes a Defender anti-virus definition update will download but nothing else). Last update was 13 Feb 2018. I'm an Insider as well.

Not every computer gets the update (through Windows Update) at the same time. Sometimes I get the update the same day it is released and sometimes it takes 3-4 days before it is offered in Windows Update.
But there is no need to worry if you don't get it immediately in Windows update. That's the MS way of offering updates.

If you wanna install it as soon as it is released you can always do it manually. Shawn always gives the Microsoft Update Catalog link at the end of his post, so if you don't want to wait to get it from Windows Update, you can always download it yourself.

Update: New "Known Issue" added to article in first post.

After installing KB4090913 the Mixed Reality Portal may fail to initialize resulting in error “SXXXXXXX-X” or may present a “We couldn’t download the Windows Mixed Reality Software” message after the software is successfully downloaded. Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

I need help again... got stuck in loop after KB4090913 failed to be installed. After first boot and when turning on, update informed that installation failed and then it cancelled changes. Since that in every boot this informs that "install updates and boot", but it never does install, though I get into my desktop in decent time. Had last week also in KB4074588 black screen issue which was solved by zinou (thanks a lot zinou:) for effort) with disabling AppXSvc, see this thread last page, don't know if these are connected. Now new boot trace record in link here below, compressed and about 110M size

One good first step would be to reset Windows Update in Win10:

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10
If that doesn't work, there is a good chance a repair install (in-pace upgrade) would probably resolve your issue:

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

I really hope that helps. Just a reminder, a repair install will keep your files data as well as your already installed apps. You probably know that already.

    Hi,

That plus a system check running Kyhi's excellent "Imagehealth" set of command seems in order too:

Often troubles updating are indicative of native OS problems. Just saying.
