Exactly the same for me - I found it in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features, then went to View Installed Updates from where I uninstalled it.
So in essence, it SHOULDN'T be supported (wrong chipset) but it still installed anyway.)
    Hence my confusion

    Hi VBF and pietcorus2,
You can update NEW Latest Intel Microcodes (24 for Haswell) yourself with Uefi Bios Updater.
Then flash your BIOS with new Microcodes.
    Cheers

Thank you for that tip @Grom0X .

However, being the cowardly wuss that I am, I'm going to wait to see if my OEM does actually have a solution that they've tried on an Asus MoBo despite the fact that "UEFI BIOS Updater" does appear to work on some Asus MoBos or so the write-up says.

I'm just very cautions of bricking the MoBo! Have you actually tried it?

ALSO: I just rebooted the PC and there is no mention of Easy AMI UEFI BIOS, rather it is Easy Asus UEFI BIOS which makes me doubly cautious

Yes i tried it with many boards (Gigabyte, AsRock and Asus) and works very well, but if something goes wrong, you can always return the original bios (just flash).

The only update for my BIOS is a beta from 2014 so I don't think I will be updating my BIOS. Current one is a month prior to that beta lol.

Yes, you have to extremely taking care with Bios-flashes , when it goes wrong your mobo is destroyed !
So, I m asking myself ; why does this Uefi Bios Updater fix the problem , while there is still no Bios-update available from the ASUS-site ( I prefer a Bios-update from ASUS ! )
Very strange still no reaction from ASUS , about time with Bios from 2016 !!

My thoughts exactly! My OEM has replied saying that

"It’s still a waiting game for that BIOS release, this time it’s down to ASUS. Just keep an eye on that BIOS page as some B85 motherboards have seen updates, so we can’t be far off now."

    They also thought that KB4090007 shouldn't have installed....but it did....so i'm still confused...ho hum

    Asus won't update "older" Boards.
