Wow! Take a couple of hours to do some real work, and what happens? New Insider Preview of course. By the time I saw @Kari's tweet it was out, my Dell Venue Pro 11 had already finished the download. Into first restart now. Now installing on the Dell XPS 2720, and on my i7-6700 system. So far, so good.

If you have WMP set as the default video player this will appear when you open a video:
    Attachment 177237
Basically they invite you to use Movies and TV and they explain the advantages of using that app instead of the WMP, I realized this today thanks to a task in the Feedback hub, I have MPC-HC established as my default video player, so I had not noticed this before.
I have noticed this before, don't remember when - it usually only occurs once per build, though, as I prefer to use Media Player as my default.

That changes this week, though, as I am moving to VLC 3 - I'm liking it a lot better than the previous generation VLC already.

US is weird, like what's up with the West Coast, are people using Macs over there?

The west coast is sparsly populated outside of the major population centres. Only really Vancouver, Seattle, Portland North of San Francisco.
And, add to that the fact that A lot of Hollywood was, for a long time, dominated by Apple, and a lot of he West Coast hipsters are still Apple users, and you have ... what you saw.

That's pretty much par for the course with these Insider devs, isn't it Ed?

Just when you expect no new builds - they throw one at you late in the day / week / day && week.

just when you think it's time for a new build, they go on hiatus for days / weeks due to internal errors....

Same here, Meebers. Computer refused to boot after installing Build 17101; same as after installing Build 17093.

What do you mean by "Did a restore to a different SSD and it booted just fine."? Did you do a backup and restore to a second SSD?

And, no, I don't think your SSD is going bad.
i had the same with my intel desktop—-can’t even get a boot screen up. My two AMD desktops are fine and booted up with no problem. Never had this before.

A problem I reported on several days ago after installing 17093 was the next morning it would not boot. I used a previous image on that SSD and it booted fine. This morning, same thing happened, that particular SSD (Samsung 830) refused to boot once again. Did a restore to a different SSD and it booted just fine. Wonder if the Samy is going south?? It passes all checks etc.

So now I am installing 17101 and seems like every install has 2 files to install, one being the Definition update for WDA which installs afterwards. This has an error now and don't know why. The install of 17101 is @ 73% as of this minute.

For me the Windows Defender definition that was failing was the same as yours 1.261.1230.0. Apparently MS has released a new definition 1.261.1260.0 and this installed successfully on my computer. The Windows Defender Security Intelligence page has not be updated yet. It is still showing 1.261.1230.0 as the current definition.

The 1260 update fixed mine also after being hung up on 1230 all day. Mine corrects the Windows Defender Security Center also.

Just a guess, it's probably the total of all versions (pro, Home, Enterprise, etc.), all languages, 32 & 64 bits, and AMD/ARM. Just a guess. Then again, it could just be a whopping typo! :) WUMT may not have the smarts to distinguish just your flavor.

Magilla, if you have a WinPE key, you can boot your computer with that and it will try to repair boot, but won't work. The only thing you can do is get it booted.
