Thank you @Wynona, this method worked for me too :)

Thanks @magilla I wouldn’t have tried it if you hadn’t said it worked for you :)

Selecting an item within 'Timeline', (when it actually works!), simply opens multiple thumbnails of the item,

same with the video, it just plays in place! I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to escape Timeline!

I just tried the Offline scan again. This time I got the spinning dots and a please wait message followed by the progress bar. It was still very quick so I'm still not sure the Offline scan is actually doing anything. Even the Online scan take longer.
    @Winuser
My experience, if the actual GUI does not come up and show progress, number of items, time, etc. - it did nothing. I'll check mine when I get a chance, not on Insider right now.

FWIW - I'm also getting repetitive Defender network protection errors logged in Reliability History.

@Wynona - just wanted you to know that going to the Power Option and turning off fast start did not work. HOWEVER, going to an elevated command prompt and using the command powercfg -h off seems to have worked. I just issued a sleep command and waited for the computer to sleep and then wiggled my mouse and voila, the screen came back on. Also, I shut down the computer and restarted it and got the menu for selecting which partition I wanted to use. WEEEEEEEEE! Thank you and all the other people from whom you extrapolated information!
    Very good, Magilla! Very good!

Since no one solution works for all of us, that's why I decided to compile all the suggestions and post them. I'm happy to have helped in some way so far.

I still wonder why Macrium's WinPE wouldn't straighten out the boot issue.

Good to know you're able to boot once more, Bordi! Next time (and there will be a next time for something), try every solution that's posted, whether you think it can help or not. Sometimes help is just a keystroke away. :)

    hi @Kari
suggest you look at the problematic SKU - they are the same, this a validation problem NOT IP
I do not understand your reference to IP, my issue not being "not IP" issue.

Other than that, yes I know this is a validation issue. The thing is, the problematic secondary SKU marked as being a Grace Edition is non-existent. I only have one SKU of Office 2016 installed, that one belonging to my O365 Enterprise subscription.

OK, this is not good. I when I just went to try another quick scan the Defender icon had a X in it. When I checked to see why it said that the virus & threat protection is turned off. I haven't turned anything off. It was on when I put my computer in sleep mode while I was preparing dinner.

Folks, with regard to installing 17093 and/or 17101, either update or clean install, and your computer won't boot afterwards, here are some "solutions"; mine and some I found on the Feedback Hub that might solve your issue. It seems the solutions are all over the map.

First, my solution: I just went into Settings>System>Power & Sleep> Additional Power Settings (on the right side of your screen)>Choose What the Power Buttons Do>Change Settings That are Currently Unavailable>and finally clear the checkbox on Fast Startup.

This worked for me, but doesn't seem to work for everyone.

Another solution from a member guru trying to help me privately; from the menu, right click Windows PowerShell then click Run as Administrator. When it comes up, type in the following command Powercfg -h off. This will disable both hibernation and Fast Startup.

And now, here are the possible solutions I picked up from Feedback. I copied them exactly as they were, with no alterations on my part. I'll leave it up to those more savvy than I to figure out what the OPs meant:

    1. UPDATE: I finally fixed it and now my computer boots properly.
Put Windows 10 setup USB and click repair my PC.

then go to troubleshoots and open CMD and insert

    bootrec.exe /fixmbr

and shutdown completely. Then your computer should boot up properly. :)

    enjoy

    2. Mine Bootloop fixed: Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Hardware & Devices > Run troubleshooter. That's it.

In case you can't boot > keep pressing to start Windows in troubleshoot/safe mode by pressing F11 or F12 (don't remember which one was that) or alternatively keep pressing both from power on onwards. All menu options will fail. Take exit to windows or similar option and you are good to go. Once inside, try troubleshoot option as above.

    3. I just cmd in with iso, and bootrec.exe /fixmbr

    4. This is what seams to have fixed it for me permanently:

Boot from USB Drive, startup repair (fails), reboot works fine.
Than on command prompt: powercfg -h off

That did fix it so far, the disable "fastboot" option did only fix it for a couple of boots, but this seams to have done the trick
    --------------------
Sorry about the different fonts and sizes, but when you copy and paste, that's what you get. I also think some were confused and got the boot loop issue confused with the no-boot issue. Your mileage may vary ...
Thanks Wynona, Even though fast startup and hibernation were turned off in power options the PC would lose power and shut down when going to sleep. Powercfg -h off fixed that sleep problem. Good job.

Great! I turned Defender back on and tried doing a quick scan. About 4 minutes into the scan Defender turned itself off again. I'm going to try a restart and see what happens. If this keeps happening I have a spare license for E-Set Security Suite I can use.
