Oh, dear, looked at the store one to see I already had it installed. Blushes all round!!
Will try it but probably no difference in looks or actions. A toss up, really?

On 17604, on my system, Defender works on bootup then just randomly stops working a few minutes later. Eben the interface in Settings changes from displaying the 7 options in Security Center to a single box titled [Open Windows Security Center]
Clicking on that opens a window with the security options but they are almost all non-operational.
There is really nothing special about an ISO compared to booting into recovery environment already installed on System. I don't understand what the issue is with self made ISOs. Because MS has decided to release broken Insider Previews that requires a boot and repair from a second independent session, I fully agree that they should rethink both the ISO issue and the whole Windows internal issue.
Too many Core OS issues at the moment, that seems to break stuff that has been working flawlessly in the past. Stuff is broken even though they made no visual changes to those components.
get the "buildfeed" app from windows store, gives you details about insider and canary.
