My old insider machine has developed a hardware fault. I believe its the motherboard so Ill need to buy a new one. But it may mean missing a few builds :/

Mr. Flu visited me all last week so got around to installing 17093 yesterday. Install went ok, did the usual image before shutting down for the night. This morning, no boot at all, tried several things, no luck. So decided to restore the image from last night and appears to be back in business. Another case of weird behavior?? p.s. Thank you "reflect", saved the day once again.

Thanks for reply Shawn....had already checked and all was as in your tut....have reported it in Feedback.

Do note strange looking Timeline/Task View icon on taskbar.
What's strange about it? Does it change when in focus?

Old Task View icon!....this never opened Timeline, whereas my new "strange" one operates in exactly the same manner as the Old icon....ie- New Desktop.

    Hi All.

have a read - any comments
was PMing another member re an Asus x55a older W8 rig, now my IP rig

You're welcome, have you been able to get all the Microsoft Windows Updates for yours, mine failed the one that was for the Spectre/Meltdown exploit yet my new HP got it installed twice. [/QUOTE]

    Hi Joan
    AN EXCELLENT question.
As im running insider previews, last "new" installed/updated 8th Feb.
NO updates showing or pending so i have absolutely NO idea
Have to assume its included, IF supported by the motherboard/Bios/CPU and GPU
Patches for all are required and
MS also hardened IE and Netframework against them (FACT)

We do however have a new feature within the security centre
    Device security
    within that
Core isolation (a memory "AV" type setting)
Standard hardware security - mine returns NOT supported.
Your hardware does not meet the requirements

Im basically taking it as meaning your up the creek without a paddle
in my case left wall Spectre right wall Meltdown.

The newest beta version of MBAM 3.4.0 Latest Version of Malwarebytes - Windows 10 Help Forums solved a big problem on 17093 I had. MBAM Exploit Protection would turn off after about 10 seconds and was impossible to turn back on. The beta MBAM is now compatible, in that regard, with Insider. I had an open ticket with MBAM, if you wish to look. Windows Insider Builds and Exploit Protection - Malwarebytes 3 - Malwarebytes Forums

Just passing this on in case anyone else had same or similar.
