    I don't have a clue about what actions were taken on your machine before you installed KB4058258, but if you look at @Brink's article (First page):

    & @f14tomcat (post #56), some prerequisites are needed beforehand in order to install this update. In my case, I didn't have to install it since I am not concerned.
    At any rate, I am glad that uninstalling the update worked for you and that you are back on track (TB3 card came right back). Again, remember to backup...and also verify the backup is working. I always programmed my backups to "verify" right after finishing the task. :)
    OK... you kinda lost me there with the pre-reqs. And believe me, I do backup religiously with verify, all the time....with Macrium (I'm a Macrium fan boy!!).

    First off, I said that I didn't have to install KB4058258. My bad, I did install it. So I took that back because I was confusing it with KB4078130 which I didn't have to install. That's why I have edited my post.
    With regard to prerequisites, I was talking about "Quality compact" and its values in right pane that one has to have from one's A-V software vendor in order to be able to install KB4056892. As far as I remember MS wouldn't let you install the latter if you don't have the update.

    As far as backing up is concerned, I don't have a single doubt that someone with your experience and knowledge would have to be advised about keeping up a good backup plan.

    Installed fine here. Unsure if related or not but about an hour and a half after installation, I checked RH and found that Maps had stopped working. I don't use it and had no errors appear on the screen.

    Anybody else have issues similar to this?

    The KB is for 32 & 64 bit machines. But, the same caveat as in the last couple of updates applies. You may not be offered the update if your AV is not up to snuff. See release notes, page #1.

    Because of an issue that affects some versions of antivirus software, this fix applies only to computers on which the antivirus ISV updated the ALLOW REGKEY. Contact your antivirus manufacturer to verify that their software is compatible and that they have set the following REGKEY on the computer:

    Key="HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"Subkey="SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\QualityCompat"

    Value Name="cadca5fe-87d3-4b96-b7fb-a231484277cc"

    Type="REG_DWORD

    Data="0x00000000
    My AV is Defender on all 7 machines. No other AV is installed.
    Manual update only worked on the 32-bit machine.
    All machines are Windows 10, version 1709.
    You need to read the release notes on page #1 again.
    6th bullet down says:

    • Provides additional protections for 32-bit (x86) versions of Windows 10, version 1709.

    I was watching the Servicing Stack which came with it... KB4074608 or something like that.

    My AMD is fine. Did you "upgrade" with WU or download the file.
    I updated with WU.

    I reset the PC, then installed all the updates - 16299.214 installed fine the second time around. I haven't had any issues since.

    Hi,

    After a restart of the machine the CU may well show as installed correctly and winver updated to .214.

    Anybody else showing some content remaining in "Windows Update Cleanup" after doing a full cleanup? It's only 46 MB but it refuses to delete fully after several runs of cleanup (ran as administrator) and a couple of restarts, never happened before until after this CU. Showed 1.35 GB before cleanup.
