...Also, I've found that when Windows 'looks' for updates on it's own schedule it'll often pass these KB's by a few times, and yet when I intentionally [Check for updates] they'll magically appear available when just moments before I was told 'Your device is up to date'. I use to think it simply a coincidence....
Nothing from WU, checked many times, still nothing. Will perform manually from msu files.

Troubleshooting WU; Issue Found...Check for Pending Updates. Fixed...Completed.

    Check for Updates...Nothing!!!

    Manual Update failed on desktop.

I think it has something to do with the priority of the update. The scheduler will do a cumulative update once every month, everything in between - that's not cirtical - will simply be moved into the next update schedule. Unless of course you check for updates manually, that seems to bypass it and check everything. This update however is not available to everyone yet. Not sure how Microsoft does its pushing.

This update has significantly changed shutdown behaviour for me. I commented a while ago on how the Creators Fall update has altered things.

Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 - Page 12 - Performance Maintenance Tutorials

Following this update my shutdown time via mouse and start menu option is down from 25 seconds or so and now back to 2 seconds, just as it used to be.

Still I have problem with WU with metered connection. Machine hangs with msg that cum update is preparing to download 100%. Only when I clear metered, updates are getting installed. It happened in my both machines Asus S400CA and HP spectre X2. This happens only for cum updates, not defender updates.

    Thanks Bree :)

I think the time is coming when Windows Update should include an on screen message giving a resume of what the major changes are, something like a .txt changlog file accessible to anyone from the settings menu.

Anyone else have this update ruin an AMD machine? The update completed, the computer restarted and now is stuck in an automatic repair loop. Gee thanks Microsoft....I updated 2 intel machines and had no issues.

I reported here a successful update of an old AMD Athlon machine, which had been crippled by the KB4056892 update released early January.
