But is shows correctly in Process Monitor or similar?
In Process Explorer by SysInternals, all shows perfectly normal.

If you have not used SR in years.... how can you possibly claim it is NOT reliable?
Personally I have used it since W10 inception.....and it has been faultless.
I was wondering the same thing....

Either one, like any other backup also depend on frequency of backups. I used to set SR to once a day while limiting number to 2 - 4 restore points. Utilities. like Revo Uninstaller make a restore point when uninstalling a program or installing a program thru it but that won't help if SR is not active and that's why I keep it on.
MR backup is usually once a week but when new build comes in, I make backup before installing it and one after I'm convinced that said build is good enough to keep and that replaces previous one.

Because it was NOT when I did use it. Macrium Reflect is reliable and it works.

A new build with a jump in the version number was compiled yesterday and uploaded to buildfeed. What this jump in version number means - if anything - I haven't the faintest.

    10.0.17600.1000 (rs_prerelease.180205-1426)

The next skip ahead, post-rs4, would be my guess. Or else that *is* rs4
