As for System Restore, it would be enough to just leave setting as it was individually set in previous build/update.
You can understand why they need to clear RPs but they could preserve the setting.

Exactly, it's only setting I was referring to, I keep space for only couple of points and make them manually only when I feel it may help, a driver change for instance.

Ever since Macrium brought out Fast Delta Restore I have stopped using RPs. It's just as quick.

Don't have the new power plan, and when testing driver today's I find System Restore to be as good as Macrium, but only in that insurance (and with my legacy system, I have to find all sorts of drivers from non-official channels to have a shot at actually getting the performance this machine is capable of).

And with this newly upgraded build from FCU --> 17083, I've got the 100 MB problem in Task manager - not all apps, but Firefox (Nightly), Chrome, Macrium and Malwarebytes Service....

I have not used SR in years. It is NOT reliable.

If you have not used SR in years.... how can you possibly claim it is NOT reliable?
Personally I have used it since W10 inception.....and it has been faultless.
