WD works perfectly here, even caught one PuP.
Not sure whats wrong with that other system lol, unless Defender missed something on it, Avast I know won't install probably right now on Insider Builds, well I guess I could try online scan with Eset or something.
How long has this been happening? Did you check to see if you received any Defender updates? If so, when was the last time?
Is > Settings app > Apps > Startup > Defender notification Icon turned on?
Try: Run SFC Command in Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials
Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image Performance Maintenance Tutorials
Rather lengthy, buy you may want to try this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ate-components
A clean install may be in order.
Also, no need for other offline scanners: WD Security Center > Virus & threat protection > Run a new advanced scan > Choose WD offline scan > Scan now.
Yeah might be leading that way, Latest update shows Not available, checking for updates finds nothing, will try sfc /scannow and dism commands, then if that doesn't help, clean install it, thankfully not my daily use machine lol
Been happening for last 2 days
Checked every other PC for any infections, nothing found
Avast showed all systems clean
Malwarebytes clean
Except None of the Scans run on That Affected system, tried Custom, Tried Offline Scan--nada lol
Other PC's in household run Avast currently
Checked all those with Avast boot scan, nothing found
I don't think it's conflict or something missed on others now
Can't fit the specs in the System info part
but it's my old AMD FX 8310 8 Core Processor 3.40ghz/turbo to 4.2, Asus M32BC Machine, 2tb Toshiba hard drive, Windows 10 Home that came with it, since upgraded to whats in the specs for System 1
Evening, AMDMan:
Yes, Avast will install on your Insider computer. I'm running Windows 10 Build 17083 and Avast is installed on this Insider machine without any problem at all. I just ran a scan to be sure, and it told me I have an older version of Skype (I know, but I don't like the new one) and offered to put my passwords in its vault. :)
Before doing anything else, install Avast and do the SmartScan. BTW, I don't have any virii.
Ok will try that in a few moments here
Avast Free Successfully Installed, Smart Scan All Green, Nothing found just like the other household systems now
So think all set now with that Insider PC, relieved for sure now

Avast Forum some stated in there it wasn't supported/compatible yet, so I believed that, and attempted to use Defender on that one machine while rest had Avast in the household.
