There's testing and "testing", a lot of SW goes thru my computer but testing it is only to see it's functionality, stability and usability for certain tasks. That's only for my benefit and people that ask what to use for their needs.

Correct. And then there is the "Here are a couple of keys for you to test my software under various conditions" or "Sign up to be a ßeta tester of our software to get a sneak peek at upcoming features while providing us with much-needed feedback!"

I'm doing 2 of the former, and um...too many to count of the latter lol...although 1 of the former type is mainly just going back and noting what I've already reported and whether it has been fixed or not....

And then there is a third type, where I install software that is RTM, but induces a bug on my system - and I start generating feedback and reporting issues to those devs. Doing this has gotten me into an unofficial ßeta tester status from the developer, who sent me multiple keys to test the software (beyond my own paid license and key).

And then there is Malwarebytes ... lol.

If I suspect some bad SW or had bad experience with previous versions, I install it thru Revo Uninstaller, that way I' sure that all traces are going to be gone. At some occasions I even make full system backup.

Lol true. But I also wasn't making use of backups because the WinX install procedure is very, very fast.

Only reason I am implementing one now is that It's a lot easier for some of the new things I'm being asked to look for to have a baseline to begin with....

Has anyone had any issues with this build with virtualisation not being available? Specifically:
    - In Task Manager, it says "Virtualisation: Enabled"
    - But when I run the Intel Processor Identification Utility, I get: "Intel VT-x with Extended Page Tables : No" and "Intel(R) Virtualization Technology : No".

So this is preventing me from installing Intel HAXM so that I can do proper Android virtualization for app development in Visual Studio 2017 / Xamarin.

I'm on an i7 16Gb 1Tb MS Surface Pro 2017 model and I've completely wiped the machine and re-installed this 17074 build again clean but the same behaviour exists...

Recruit, sometimes you have to go into the BIOS and enable virtualization. I don't know how the BIOS could have been changed if virtualization was already enabled, but you might check.

Hi there, @recruit2. I don't virtualize, but if I remember correctly some were having problems with it in 074. I'll summons some members that do to see if they can/will answer.

I've not had any problems with it but I only run Insiders in a VM. As mentioned it would be worth checking if it is enabled in the BIOS.

I've actually had this problem with a lot of previous builds, as enabling VT in BIOS would invariably render those same issues when trying to use HaxM on my machine as well.

But I am almost positive that it is a BIOS specific issue (in my case), as it was reported (and never fixed) in the eVGA forums.

For some reason, though, even with that report from HaxM (and other Android virtualization software) I have had no issues running Hyper-V - which is why I tried so hard to get a working virtual version of Android in Hyper-V with true mouse support.

    Never got that working either.

Last three Insider Builds (Slow and Fast) would not install on HP Spectre, tried everything I could find on line. Finally gave up the ghost and did a reset and that did allow for 17074.1002 to finally install on first try after reset. Think I'll stay with the Slow builds for awhile, at least until I load up my deleted programs like all my Adobe and Office programs.
