    Success! Kinda almost..

Up late do the update. Saw the workaround for the problem I had last build with it hanging at last boot before coming back, then rollback was only option. Have to disable "virtualization" in the BIOS, then it's all fat and happy! It's in the known issues, but not real clear and buried in there. Nasty unwelcome side effect...without virtualization enabled in BIOS, VMware gets rather sick. So I have to toggle the setting if I want to use VMware. And have to leave it off in BIOS while using Insider or it will hang on boot every time, not just the update issue, every boot. Seems to be the only downside I've found. So far....
Didn't know about the "virtualisation" tip.

    Had to clean install.

Booting works for me in 17074.

Updated in the morning. All went fine, at start some app didn't show right, Edge was unresponsive, Mail wouldn't start....

Restart and some time given, and system recovered itself Maybe it's time for me to make a clean install ...

Do you think this could be why I'm having these issues? My audio card and cam are not working cause I get a code 39 error.
Probably not, as I'm not using Macrium but was having the same code 39 errors with my Logitech webcam and headset on 17063. That said, I haven't gotten 17074 to install properly, so I can't test on the new build yet to see if my issue is resolved. I may do a clean install of 17074 tomorrow though. If I do, I'll get back to you with my results.

    Firefox sound WORKING !!!!
Sound panel in Settings has great new options but looks like it's not recognizing desktop programs. only for APPs.
Except for problems with activation, everything is working like well oiled Swiss watch, actually more like Cuckoo clock because of that problem. I even run some benchmarks and there's a small performance improvement, (may not happen to Intel owners).
That's quite an impressive list of bug fixes and new features in this build, well worth waiting for. Once update was downloaded it went super fast for me, 10 minutes at most !!!

Well. I've got out of 4:3 land by turning on 3D again. The driver doesn't start but picks up the 1920x1080 definition. That's the way it worked on 17063. Looks like I'll have to remember to turn off 3D before the next build unless VB comes up with a fix.

well, the issue is not directly macrium, the issue is the lock on legacy kernel drivers set by default from 17063 onward so that those drivers are not loaded at boot. I'm not sure if it affects what is happening on my pc I'll try the suggestion in the article as soon as I get home from work.

Me too. It showed for a few seconds after boot and then disappeared.

    It's in Known Issues:
"The Windows Defender icon is missing from the systray, even if it shows as enabled in Settings". I had it show up at first reboot but it's not there any more.
