Me too. It showed for a few seconds after boot and then disappeared.

    It's in Known Issues:
"The Windows Defender icon is missing from the systray, even if it shows as enabled in Settings". I had it show up at first reboot but it's not there any more.
Thanks. like you said.. showed quickly after reboot, confused me, and then I missed it :)

Is this new setting in apps: Repair, or I missed it before? Edit, looks like it's only there for Edge...

    Anyone else experiencing this:

Office 2016, a subscription product belonging to my O365 subscription. After the upgrade now, I was met with this:

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Slow Build 17074.1002 - Jan. 11-image.png

Notice that Office on this laptop has never been activated with a product key. It is a Click-toRun installation activated with my O365 Enterprise email address.

Opening any Office application, I can go to Account and click Fix me:

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Slow Build 17074.1002 - Jan. 11-image.png

This fixes the issue for Office application in question for that session, but opening another Office application or closing application I already fixed and reopneing it, the issue is back.

    Annoying!

"Your license will expire soon" problem is still there and thare's no Troubleshoot in Activation panel where it should be:
    Attachment 172158
Maybe because I do have a digital license ?
    Otherwise everything works fine.
Mike, I recall seeing you post this error before... thought it had resolved by now --

The "Your license will expire soon" sounds a lot like a GVLK volume key installed - have you tried bumping the activation server with 'change product key' and entering the generic for the installed edition?

    If Home use this one:
    Windows 10 Home: YTMG3-N6DKC-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7
BTW: You may well have a DL, but it can't find it that's all - sometimes slight changes to HardwareID throws it (not sure if drivers do that but occasionally we get the DL going AWOL)

Yes, tried with generic key (pro) but it gets rejected. When entering original W7 from which it was upgraded from, dialog just closes down with no comment whatsoever. It's not happening on the other machine which has more complicated history. That one started as W7 gifted to a political (opposition) party by MS which I did some work for and they gave me disk for it. That one I upgraded to W8/8.1 and than to W10 but after getting it activated I did straight W7 to W10 upgrade.
For this one, its store bought W7 disk although for somewhat reduced price because by that time W7 sales were vanning end they were on sale for about 50 bucks less (I'm never the one to miss a bargoon).
Maybe it doesn't offer Activation Assistant because it actually didn't expire (nor it should apart from it being insider version). Maybe next build will fix it but for now it's annoying because it stops anything I'm doing until I click on it, and it happens several (2 - 3) times a day. Other than that it's not a bother.
There's one thing that I realized happening from last build, Internet (Ethernet connection) doesn't work until 10- 20 seconds after desktop is up and it's set to sign in automatically.

Awoke this morning to find Update available....started as per normal, but about half way through Update the screen appeared like that of a television that had been left on overnight.....after three unsuccessful attempts I remembered that I had changed my monitor since the previous Insider iteration....so checked Power settings....sure enough screen settings had been altered to cut out after only a few minutes on Ethernet.
This appeared to stop the installation proceeding...…Changed settings to remain open while connected and successfully Updated.

OK, but from my experience we were never able to re-instate the original DL -- Always had to re-create with the upgrade key - I assume in this case the Win 7 key has expired online activation and needs to go back to a Win 7 install in order to phone activate then upgrade again to get a new DL. --- PITA hey?
My concern is if this method will still work at all after 16 Jan!?

BTW: I also have those delays on connectivity with Wi-FI tho'... lotsa issues in fact, mainly with sleep (but that's a long, boring story - told a few times already.. LOL. )

Did you try upgrading from ISO? Works quite often also when WU upgrade fails.

    Finally D/L up and running.

I had my Security Centre pinned on taskbar on last IP, left side,
Still there and working even after a restart -- COZ my Wifi driver STILL gets incorrectly updated.

not sure if a restart fixed another problem a flashing heading on settings.

time to get rid my Windows.old folders got >> 6 << now
