I hadn't noticed if 17063 that I updated to 17074 had lost activation - it did not behave as if it was not activated - no notifications to activate on the settings page, for instance.

However 17074 does not fix the issue - Activation Troubleshooter just restarts the computer when you follow the recommendation to upgrade, and the lack of Activation is still notable in settings, Update and security, Activation, and in sysdm.cpl, but like in 17063, there are no other indications that the system is not behaving as if activated, and other insider builds under test on the same hardware show they are activated normally.

Switching from local to MS accounts does not change the issue.

Also MSASCui.exe no longer starts the legacy desktop interface for Windows Defender, it switches straight to the Windows Store app interface in both 17063 and 17074.
I'm almost in same pickle except I didn't actually loose the license (it still has digital activation) but I'm getting warnings about it's going to expire soon and can't fix it.

I see. Well, you know IPs by now. Not everything runs on them. That would have to be the game developer to fix that, yes?
sadly the developers will not have anything to help with since game is working fine on 16299, all they're going to say is that this insider build is not stable enough and they would recommend me going back to 16299, so the problem is on MS's side since this happens quite often with insider builds but i expected them to fix it since i provided a detailed feedback with a log but oh well :/

Hi Brink, I was looking at this thread to see if anybody had the same problem as me. As it turns out, you did. On my laptop I did a hard shutdown 2 times, the 3rd time it also reverted back to 1709 stable. Guess I'll wait for the next build.

That's what I had to do on the laptop. I'm thinking about clean installing it later.

My Daughter is 33, and a Mum of 9 months, and thankfully does not live here. I do not suspect my Wife, Siberian Husky, nor cats of being secret Windows 10 users. Nope I suspect Microsoft.

The 2 multiboot insider upgrades 17074 and 17063 on this machine appear to have lost Activation today (another older insider build installation on the same machine has not).

    It seems weird.
Fafhrd, I think each time you clean install (don't know if you have) your computer is given a new name; I've gone in and found that my desktop has several names. For some odd reason, Microsoft doesn't realize that this is the same machine they've given a few new names to.

    Just my WAG...

    Hi BM.
Edge has always been my favourite browser....that is up to the present.
I now find certain websites no longer open, although IE and Chrome can still open them.
For example....Daily Mail Online and the Manchester Evening News.
Present improvements in the browser having created problems elsewhere perhaps!
