StatCounter's methodology suggests that W10 will overtake W7 this month (desktop worldwide).

Thanks for sharing. That's a pretty major cutover point, when Win10 catches up to (and then inevitably passes) Win7. The US Government Stats have shown Win10 ahead of Win7 for some time now. See analytics.usa.gov to see what I mean.

According to StatCounter W10 overtook W7:

• In Australia in June 2016
• In the USA in November 2016

The Australian figures seem hard to believe, given how long people have been complaining about a lack of money.
Maybe more people here used the free upgrade offer than anywhere else in the world.

Wouldn't XP still have a higher percentage than 8x, in the bar graph that EdTittel

There seems to be a sizable difference between XP & W8 Series market share data, when comparing NetMarketShare and StatCounter results.

Apparently "no one" in the US uses XP according to the US Government data.
